Bedroom is designed by Ulla Koskinen together with Anno for artist Helen Schjerfbeck.
Ulla Koskinen is known as the editor-in-chief of Asun Magazine. Alongside working on the magazine, she has achieved a long and multifaceted career as a designer and concept planner. Her clients are companies such as Adea, Artek, Durat, Kannustalo, Marimekko and Woodnotes. Warm minimalism, timelessness and multitoned materials are characteristic features of her work.
Anno is a Finnish lifestyle brand, founded in 2007, that has its roots firmly in the Scandinavian way of
living. Anno's mission is simple - to create products that feel good to live with. Natural materials -
wool, linen and cotton - are an essential part of Anno´s relaxed and timeless way of life.
“Fortune and intuition also led this project. A summer house, Anno’s linen sheets and a Finnish artist brought Helene Schjerfbeck to my mind. She has always been an inspiration to me and my work.
The bald and modern style of this strong and independent artist and the incredibly multitoned and harmonic colour scheme offer boundless things to explore. I return to her work over and over again.
We were unaware that Helene has also been an important artist for Pia Lehtovuori, the Head Designer of Anno. Helene was also the first name that crossed Pia’s mind when thinking about this project.
This bedroom is dedicated to Helene Schjerfbeck, and the atmosphere is simultaneously both strong and sensitive, and minimalistic and rich.”
